Hector Luvianos-Barrera, 37, faces two counts of first-degree murder for allegedly stabbing his wife, Noemi Parada Narvaez, 43, 20-30 times in the head and 20-25 times in her back, neck, and chest, then bludgeoning her head and body with a hammer in their Batavia, Illinois apartment on December 23, 2025. She suffered lacerations and a broken skull, dying at the scene despite paramedics’ efforts.
Incident Details
Luvianos-Barrera called 911 around 4:30 a.m., claiming self-defense; officers found him outside and took him into custody without resistance. The attack stemmed from an argument over alleged infidelity while drinking and watching a movie—Narvaez reportedly threw objects, hid a knife, and refused to stop after he pried it away and pushed her down.
Court Proceedings
At a Christmas Eve hearing, Assistant State’s Attorney Tyler Cox described the assault as “brutal and violent” far beyond self-defense, rejecting Luvianos-Barrera’s claim that he “defended myself and exceeded myself and killed her.” Judge John Barsanti denied bond; he’s held in Kane County Jail with a next court date January 2, 2026. Batavia Police labeled it domestic-related.
