Anjelicia Stewart, 37, faces multiple felony charges including three counts of attempted murder for allegedly abusing and trying to drown her three young children—ages 14, 8, and 2—in Cincinnati, Ohio, over several years.
Abuse Allegations
Prosecutors claim Stewart repeatedly filled a bathtub with water, held the children underwater while screaming “I’m going to kill you,” beat them with belts, poles, metal clasps, and dog chains, and strangled them manually. On one occasion, she slammed a child to the floor so forcefully they stopped breathing, requiring CPR from a sibling.
Arrest and Charges
Indicted on 19 counts in early December 2025 after a warrant, Stewart was arraigned this week and pleaded not guilty; the abuse spanned 2021 to April 2025 in neighborhoods like Westwood, Price Hill, or South Fairmount. She also faces felonious assault, child endangering, and gross sexual imposition charges.
Current Status
Held on $500,000 bond with a no-contact order for the terrified children, who are now safely with family and friends. Hamilton County officials described the case as horrific, emphasizing risks to the family.
