After crashing into an alleged stolen BMW, a Florida man tells police he was 'teleported' into the vehicle.

Calvin Curtis Johnson, a 36-year-old homeless man from Florida, faces charges of grand theft auto and driving on a suspended license after allegedly stealing a BMW convertible from Bicentennial Park in Ormond Beach on December 8, 2025.

The owner had left the unlocked car with keys in the cupholder while walking his dog; Johnson reportedly took it, drove over 100-130 mph, and crashed it into flames at North U.S. Highway 1 and Plantation Oaks Boulevard minutes later. Witnesses pulled him from the wreckage before firefighters arrived.

Bodycam footage captures a bloodied Johnson panicking, claiming “I teleported or something” into the vehicle and later thanking deputies for saving him from “the aliens.” He was hospitalized under guard before jail transfer, highlighting risks of unlocked vehicles in public spaces.
