Ian Delmore, 40, from New Hampshire, faces new charges of assault – domestic violence – strangulation and domestic violence – simple assault for allegedly abusing and strangling his mother. She called police reporting fear for her life, leading to his arrest after officers investigated.
In 2007, at age 22, Delmore killed his father by stabbing him over 20 times in the head, face, and back with a butcher knife, penetrating his brain during an argument over a home plumbing project. Delmore had argued with his mother over a wrong part purchase, escalating when his father intervened; he told his father, “You brought this on yourself,” during the attack.
After the killing, Delmore stabbed himself and sought help from neighbors before hiding in woods, where police found him bloodied. He admitted, “I know I’m going to jail,” and planned a self-defense claim citing mental health and alleged abuse but pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in 2008, receiving a 25-year sentence.
At sentencing, Delmore apologized to his family, especially his mother. His mother had previously commended police and expressed love for him post-arrest. These recent charges indicate ongoing family violence issues after his release.
