NCPD apprehended a juvenile for carrying a gun and lying to police

North Charleston Police Department officers conducted a traffic stop around 11:30 p.m. last week at Pepperhill Park, which was closed at the time. They observed a vehicle parked there that began to leave, prompting the stop during which officers smelled marijuana emanating from the car. A search revealed a handgun under the driver’s seat.

Arrest and Charges

The juvenile driver was detained and charged with unlawful carrying of a handgun, providing false information to police, and driving without a license. He was transported to the Charleston County Juvenile Detention Center following the arrest. No additional details on the juvenile’s identity or further investigation were released publicly.
