Charleston, South Carolina – The Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Unit is looking into a tragic vehicle versus pedestrian accident that occurred Sunday night.
According to the agency, the crash occurred around 8 p.m. on Highway 78 near Craven Road in Ladson.
According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, the driver of the car that struck the pedestrian was going east on Highway 78, and the victim was walking in the roadway at the time.
Charleston County EMS responded swiftly to the scene and attempted life-saving procedures, but the pedestrian was subsequently pronounced dead, according to the agency.
The Charleston County Forensic Services Unit and Charleston County Coroner’s Office both attended to the collision. According to CCSO, the coroner’s office will release the victim’s identification when appropriate.
