Charleston, South Carolina — Two guys are facing charges after allegedly robbing a man at gunpoint inside a James Island home earlier this week.
Charleston Police officers called to a home on Westway Drive about 11 a.m. Thursday after a man reported being hurt during a robbery.
The victim informed authorities that an acquaintance had invited him to the home, and that shortly after arriving, another man wearing a ski mask entered the room and pointed a shotgun at him.
“According to the victim, both suspects demanded his belongings,” police stated in a press statement. “When the victim resisted, one suspect struck him with a handgun.”
Justin Roland Jenkins, 27, and Malachi Jabez Lanham, 22, were arrested after being discovered inside the home.
Both were put into the Al Cannon Detention Center on accusations of armed robbery, assault and battery of a high and aggravated character, and possession of a firearm while committing a violent felony.
Anyone with information on the ongoing investigation is asked to call the CPD’s on-duty central detective at 843-720-2422 or leave an anonymous tip online.
