Concord, North Carolina — A former Cabarrus County Schools employee has been charged with criminal solicitation of a juvenile in Charleston County, South Carolina.
Matthew Wicker, 32, of Concord, worked as a transportation safety assistant for Cabarrus County until October 31, when the school board suspended him after learning he was being investigated.
Wicker was charged following an undercover operation by the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office and the South Carolina Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force.
According to WCSC in Charleston, he was one of eight males arrested for soliciting sex with a kid via social media.
Wicker was arrested on Thursday, November 13, in Cabarrus County. He will be extradited to Charleston and face accusations.
