Berkeley County, South Carolina — Berkeley County deputies are looking for a man who fled a traffic check and is wanted by multiple agencies on outstanding warrants.

Law enforcement is looking for William Gerrel David Miller, 23, of Dover Street in North Charleston.

On Sunday, a deputy patrolling Old State Road near Red Bank Road in Goose Creek discovered a vehicle with malfunctioning equipment, according to the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office.

The deputy attempted a traffic stop, and the vehicle, identified as Miller, made a U-turn, crossing all lanes of traffic before driving away. A chase ensued, but Miller leaped out of the truck while driving near North Charleston and fled through the woods on foot.

He is facing further warrants from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, the Summerville Police Department, and Dorchester County, including one for stalking. Authorities described him as a violent offender.

Anyone with information about Miller’s whereabouts can contact the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office at 843-719-4505 or Crime Stoppers of the Lowcountry at 843-554-1111.
