Police in Brooklyn, New York, responded to a tragic murder-suicide on Saturday at a brownstone in Park Slope, where a 23-year-old woman fatally stabbed her 59-year-old mother before taking her own life. Both were pronounced dead at the scene.
Incident Details
The NYPD received a 911 call shortly before 8 p.m. about an unresponsive woman at 386 Second St. Officers found the older woman with multiple stab wounds, then located her daughter in the home, also deceased from stab wounds.
Sources indicate the younger woman had an argument with her mother, which escalated to the fatal stabbing. Authorities have not released the victims’ identities.
Previous Murder-Suicide at Same Location
This incident is the second murder-suicide at the same address in two years. In January 2024, Jason Jackson, 34, reportedly shot his partner, Olga Kirshenbaum, 34, before taking his own life. Kirshenbaum was a financial consultant known as “The Money Whisperer,” and Jackson was a cook.
Community Response
Local residents have expressed shock over the repeated tragedies at the brownstone. Illustrator and longtime resident Fred Fassberger noted that after the 2024 incident, the community held emergency meetings at a nearby church to discuss safety and the impact on the neighborhood.
