The Mount Pleasant School Board and municipal elections will be held on Tuesday, November 4, 2025. Here’s what voters need to know:
Key Dates
Election Day: November 4, 2025
Voter Registration Deadline: Sunday, October 5, 2025 (mail-in forms must be postmarked by Monday, October 6)
Early Voting: Available October 20–31, Monday through Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m., at several locations including Mt. Pleasant Seacoast Church and others in Charleston County.
Candidate Filing
Filing Period: August 4–August 18, 2025, 12:00 p.m.–12:00 p.m.
Filing Fee: $150 for each office (including school board and town council)
Requirements: Candidates must be registered voters residing in Mount Pleasant (at least 6 months for some positions) and file required paperwork in person at the Charleston County Board of Voter Registration and Elections.
Ballot Offices
Seats on the school board and town council are up for election.
Check with the Board of Elections or town website for a full list of open seats.
Absentee & Provisional Ballots
Absentee ballot envelopes will be examined by officials on Monday, November 3.
A public hearing on provisional ballots will take place November 6 at the County Elections office.
Compliance
All candidates must also file economic interest and campaign disclosure statements with the State Ethics Commission.
