Pageland, South Carolina — A 13-year-old was shot inside a Pageland home on Sunday evening, according to authorities.

Around 6:40 p.m., Pageland cops responded to several reports of gunfire in different locations. The alleged incidents occurred near W. Sewell Street, Joseph Street, and Bundy Robinson Circle.

During the shootings, a 13-year-old was shot inside a residence on Joseph Street. The victim was sent to the hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

Following the first inquiry, police were able to detain two teenagers, but it was unclear whether they would face charges.

Police say that because both the victim and the accused are minors, no further information will be given at this time.

The Pagleand Police Department invites anyone with additional information about these incidents to contact them at 843-672-6437.

“The safety of our community, particularly our children, is our top priority. Gun violence will not be accepted in Pageland, and we will strive tirelessly to hold those involved accountable. We encourage the community to stand with us, to be watchful, and to give any information that will help us with our continuing investigations,” said Pageland Police Chief Dean Short.
