A Delaware man has been indicted for the first-degree murder of his 72-year-old grandmother, following a chilling confession he made to hotel staff after the crime. On January 29, 2026, at approximately 5:45 p.m., Dempsey Fritchey approached hotel staff at the Hyatt House on Five Points Square in Lewes, Delaware, and told them he had killed his grandmother in one of the rooms.
