One person was killed in an accident in Laurens County, investigators said

S.C.’s Laurens County — Authorities are looking into a fatal collision that happened Tuesday night in Laurens County.

The South Carolina Highway Patrol reports that the collision occurred at approximately 8:43 p.m. at the 21-mile marker on I-385 Southbound.

According to officials, a 1996 Chevrolet pickup truck was traveling south when it veered off the left side of the road, overcorrected, and crossed the road again.

After that, the motorist struck a tree after veering off the right side of the road.

According to investigators, the motorist passed away at the scene of the collision.

The identity of the deceased driver has not yet been made public by the Laurens County Coroner’s Office.
