An Arizona man wanted in connection with an alleged domestic violence attack was arrested at a California theme park months after authorities said he fled the state.
Man Arrested After Months on the Run
According to the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office, 46-year-old Jason Marchesano was arrested on May 27 at Legoland in Carlsbad, California.
Authorities allege that in October 2025, Marchesano strangled and restrained his girlfriend with bed sheets inside a trailer home in Paulden, Arizona. The woman was able to escape and contact law enforcement, while Marchesano allegedly fled the state.
Community Tip Led to Arrest
Investigators said they worked with agencies in Arizona, Nevada and California before receiving a tip from the public that helped locate Marchesano.
Police reported observing bruises on the victim that were consistent with her account. Property owners near the trailer also told investigators they heard an argument coming from the home.
Facing Multiple Charges
Marchesano has been charged with attempted second-degree homicide, kidnapping and aggravated assault.
Authorities said he was also wanted for violating probation and has prior convictions related to domestic violence and other violent offenses.
He is currently being held at the Vista Detention Facility in California as a fugitive pending further legal proceedings.
