An Arizona father is mourning the loss of his two young children after police said their mother fatally shot them before taking her own life in an apparent murder-suicide.
Mother Accused of Killing Children
According to Phoenix police, 38-year-old Andrea Davis shot and killed her two children — 10-year-old Austin and 2-year-old Andolan — inside a Phoenix home early on May 25.
Authorities said Andrea later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
The children were later identified through a GoFundMe created to help their father, Nolan Davis, with funeral expenses.
Shooting Happened After Earlier Attack
Before the deaths were discovered, police in nearby Glendale responded to a separate shooting involving Andrea and Nolan.
According to investigators, Nolan was outside a bar with another woman when Andrea allegedly opened fire.
Police said the woman was shot in the head while trying to drive away but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
Father Received Disturbing Messages
Authorities said Nolan later received a text message from Andrea threatening to harm the children.
According to local reports, she then allegedly sent him a photo showing the children injured.
Police from Glendale and Phoenix quickly responded to the home and forced their way inside, where they found Andrea and the two children dead.
Community Mourning Tragic Loss
Friends and family described the children as loving and full of life.
A GoFundMe created for Nolan Davis said he lost “his family, his home, and the life he built over many years.”
Andrea’s close friend also spoke publicly about the tragedy, saying she was heartbroken while thinking about the children’s final moments.
The investigation into the incident remains ongoing.
