The incident took place in Lehi, where 34-year-old Brennan Dalton has been charged with first-degree murder.
According to the Lehi City Police Department, officers reached the home around 2:15 a.m. after receiving a distress call reporting that a woman had been strangled.
What Allegedly Happened
Investigators say the couple had been drinking before an argument began after putting their 7-year-old daughter to bed.
As per court documents:
- The argument was linked to past issues, including Dalton losing his job
- He claimed his wife insulted him and called him a failure
- He said she asked him to sleep on the couch without a blanket
Dalton also told police that tensions increased when his wife allegedly tried to pull off his hoodie while he was lying on the couch.
