Three people have been arrested following a multi-state methamphetamine investigation along the Georgia-North Carolina border, authorities said.
Drug Investigation Leads to Arrests
According to the Union County Sheriff’s Office, investigators worked with law enforcement agencies in North Carolina during the operation.
The investigation began with surveillance at a residence in Cherokee County, North Carolina, and led to a traffic stop where authorities allegedly recovered about 20 grams of methamphetamine.
Search Warrant Executed
Investigators later executed a search warrant at a home in Union County, Georgia, near the state line.
Deputies said they seized trafficking amounts of methamphetamine and more than $1,500 in cash believed to be connected to illegal drug activity.
Authorities also reported that a juvenile was living at the residence.
Charges Filed
Amanda Mary King, 38, faces charges including methamphetamine trafficking, maintaining a dwelling for drug activity, exposing a child to a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Amanda Lee Edmondson was charged with possession of methamphetamine.
Heather Leigh Hamby, 45, was charged with possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Investigation Continues
Authorities said the investigation remains ongoing. All three suspects are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
