The flash flood warning for Charleston County was canceled

Heavy rain prompted a flash flood warning for Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties on Monday night, though the warning has since been cancelled.

Flash Flood Warning Issued

The National Weather Service issued a flash flood warning at approximately 10:30 p.m. for parts of the Lowcountry, including Berkeley, Charleston, and Dorchester counties.

The warning remained in effect until 12:15 a.m. due to heavy rainfall and the potential for flooding on roads and low-lying areas.

Warning Cancelled

As of 11:20 p.m., the flash flood warning was cancelled as conditions improved across the region.

However, forecasters said additional rainfall remained possible overnight.

Residents Urged to Stay Cautious

Even though the warning has ended, drivers are encouraged to remain cautious, especially in areas where water may still be standing on roadways.

Officials continue to monitor weather conditions and any potential traffic impacts.
