A Pennsylvania woman has been charged with murder after police said she fatally shot her ex-girlfriend’s new partner outside a Lowe’s store while the victim’s young daughter was nearby.

Shooting Happened Outside Pennsylvania Lowe’s

Authorities identified the suspect as 32-year-old Taneesha Lynn Teague.

According to investigators, the shooting happened Monday morning outside a Lowe’s store in Hermitage, Pennsylvania.

Police said Teague followed her former girlfriend and the woman’s 9-year-old daughter to the store, where they were meeting 36-year-old Salim Basalat.

Victim Shot in Parking Lot

Investigators allege that Teague became upset after seeing Basalat with her ex-girlfriend.

According to court documents, Teague approached the group in the parking lot and opened fire, striking Basalat in the stomach and arm.

Emergency responders arrived after a 911 call reported the shooting. Authorities said a woman could be heard in the background warning someone to move or they would also be shot.

Basalat was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died from his injuries on Tuesday.

Suspect Later Turned Herself In

Police said Teague fled the scene after the shooting.

Investigators later located her white Nissan work van in the parking lot of a nearby restaurant.

After authorities publicly identified her as a suspect, Teague turned herself in to police later on Tuesday.

Charges Filed Against Defendant

Teague has been charged with first-degree murder, criminal homicide, aggravated assault, and multiple counts of recklessly endangering another person.

Authorities have not confirmed whether the ex-girlfriend or the child suffered any injuries during the incident.

Teague is scheduled to appear in court for a preliminary arraignment on Wednesday.
