A South Carolina elementary school teacher was arrested after a missing child investigation led authorities to her home.

Arrest and Charges

Yshay Fuller, 33, was taken into custody on Tuesday, May 19, by the Richland County Sheriff’s Department. She faces three charges:

  • Contributing to the delinquency of a minor
  • Obstructing justice
  • Neglect by a legal guardian

Incident Details

Deputies were first called on May 10 regarding a runaway child allegedly at Fuller’s residence. Investigators say Fuller did not provide information about the child’s whereabouts. The minor was not found at the home, but returned to their own residence later that evening after being missing since May 8.

Booking and Release

Fuller was booked into the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center with a $20,000 bond. She was released Thursday under conditions requiring her to stay at least 1,000 yards away from the victim and prohibiting any contact.

School Connection

Fuller is listed as an educator at Caughman Road Elementary School. Authorities emphasized that the alleged offenses are unrelated to her professional duties or the school.

Court Appearance

Fuller’s initial court appearance is scheduled for July 31. She has not commented publicly, and it is unclear if she has retained legal counsel.
