Two people were murdered in a pair of weekend shootings in Charleston County

Two deadly shootings in Charleston County over the weekend have left two people dead and others injured. One happened on King Street in Charleston, and the other near McClellanville.

King Street Shooting

On Sunday at around 2:30 a.m., Charleston police arrested 35-year-old Andre Ramon Nesbit of Charleston after a shooting outside Gilroy’s Pizza Pub on 353 King Street. One person died, and two others were injured, including bystanders.

Nesbit faces charges of murder, two counts of assault and battery of a high and aggravated nature, and possession of a firearm during a violent crime. Police are asking witnesses to call (843) 720-2422 or submit tips anonymously at charleston-sc.gov/tips.

McClellanville Shooting

Saturday night, deputies responded to a shooting in the Buck Hall community near McClellanville. One person was found dead at the scene, and a suspect was arrested. Names of the victim and suspect have not been released. Anyone with information can contact the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office at (843) 202-1700.

Police Statement

Charleston Police Chief Chito Walker said gunfire is never an acceptable way to resolve conflicts and emphasized the importance of community cooperation in ongoing investigations.
