A man accused of killing his ex-wife and her husband inside a Las Vegas grocery store was tackled by shoppers before police arrived, authorities said.
Shooting Inside Las Vegas Grocery Store
Police identified the suspect as 43-year-old Alejandro Alfonso Estrada.
Investigators said Estrada opened fire inside a Smith’s grocery store, killing his ex-wife Amanda Frias Rosas and her husband, Victor Frias Rosas.
Authorities said the shooting was linked to ongoing custody disputes between Estrada and Amanda.
Shoppers Tackled Suspect
Witnesses said customers began running for safety after hearing multiple gunshots inside the store.
Several bystanders reportedly confronted Estrada outside the store and wrestled him to the ground before officers arrived.
One man said he struggled with Estrada over a gun and later discovered additional weapons inside a backpack.
Police praised the bystanders for their actions and said they showed “tremendous courage.”
Children Not Present During Shooting
Court records showed Estrada and Amanda shared two children. Their son had turned 12 on the day of the shooting, while their daughter’s birthday was only days away.
Authorities confirmed the children were not at the store during the incident.
Suspect Faces Multiple Charges
Estrada has been charged with two counts of open murder along with several firearm-related offences, burglary while armed, and aggravated stalking.
Investigators said a child support hearing involving the former couple had been scheduled for June.
