Two people were injured after a serious crash along U.S. Highway 76 in Florence County, South Carolina, on Tuesday afternoon. Emergency crews quickly responded to the scene near Koppers Road after reports of a major collision involving significant injuries.
Crash Happened Near Koppers Road
According to officials, the accident took place around 3:20 p.m. along U.S. Highway 76 near Koppers Road in Florence County.
While emergency responders were on their way to the crash site, they were informed that a member of Florence County Emergency Medical Services had already arrived at the scene and requested additional assistance.
One Person Trapped Inside Vehicle
Firefighters arriving at the scene found one person trapped inside a vehicle following the collision. Officials said the wreck caused significant injuries.
Rescue crews worked to remove the trapped person safely from the vehicle before providing medical assistance.
Vehicle Mistaken for Law Enforcement Unit
Authorities also stated that one of the vehicles involved appeared to be connected to law enforcement. However, it was later confirmed that the vehicle was surplus and was not involved in any active duty response.
