NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. — A 26‑year‑old man has been arrested in connection with a weekend shooting that left one man injured.
Shooting Incident
Police say the shooting happened just before 6 p.m. Sunday near the intersection of Accabee Road and Madden Drive in the Dorchester Terrace community of North Charleston. According to the North Charleston Police Department, witnesses reported that someone in a pickup truck fired into another vehicle. Shortly afterward, a male victim arrived at a hospital with a gunshot wound related to the incident.
Arrest Made
Officers from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office located the suspected vehicle the next day in West Ashley. They identified the suspect as Joseph Hamilton, 26, who has been charged with discharging a firearm within city limits. Hamilton was taken into custody and booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
Police have not released further details about the victim’s condition or whether additional charges are expected as the investigation continues.
