Three people were injured in a shooting at a Publix grocery store in Cane Bay on Thursday night, according to authorities.
Shooting Reported At Publix
Deputies with the Berkeley County Sheriff’s Office and EMS crews responded to the Publix located at 1724 State Rd.
Officials said the shooting happened both inside and outside the store.
Three People Injured
Berkeley County Sheriff Duane Lewis said one person appeared to have been targeted in the shooting. A bystander and a Publix employee were also injured.
Authorities said the targeted victim was shot twice and underwent surgery Thursday night. The other two victims suffered minor gunshot injuries.
Three Suspects In Custody
Sheriff Lewis confirmed that three suspects have been taken into custody. Their names and charges have not yet been released.
Deputies remained at the scene Thursday night as investigators collected evidence. Officials said an update is expected Friday morning.
