An investigation is underway after a man was shot multiple times Thursday afternoon in Dobbins Heights, according to authorities.
Man Shot Multiple Times
The Richmond County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a shooting call around 12:30 p.m. on Sanford Street.
Officials said an adult male was shot several times and was taken to a trauma center for treatment.
Suspect Still At Large
Investigators said they are conducting interviews and executing search warrants as part of the investigation. As of 3:30 p.m., the suspect had not been arrested.
Sheriff Mark Gulledge and several deputies reportedly left the National Day of Prayer event at the old courthouse after receiving the call.
Incident Believed To Be Domestic-Related
According to the sheriff’s office, the shooting appears to be an isolated domestic-related incident.
Authorities said more information will be released as the investigation continues.
