Gaston County authorities have arrested a woman wanted on multiple drug trafficking charges after a weeks-long search.
Woman Arrested on Drug Trafficking Charges in Gaston County
Helen McKnight was taken into custody by the Gaston County FAST team on Friday. Authorities said McKnight was located and arrested without incident in the county.
The Gaston County Police Department shared details of her arrest on social media, highlighting the success of the operation.
Charges Filed Against McKnight
McKnight, 41, is facing a range of felony charges, including:
- Two counts of maintaining a dwelling for the sale of a controlled substance
- Four counts of trafficking heroin
- Three counts of trafficking methamphetamine
- Two counts each of manufacturing and selling a Schedule I controlled substance
- Two counts of felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance
FAST Team Operation
The FAST team, a collaborative group involving local, state, and federal officers, tracked down McKnight. The team focuses on quickly locating and arresting offenders while minimizing risks to law enforcement and the public.
McKnight’s arrest is part of Gaston County’s ongoing efforts to disrupt drug trafficking operations, including recent seizures of narcotics and cash.
Legal Proceedings
McKnight is currently in custody as her case progresses through the Gaston County court system. Prosecutors from the county district attorney’s office will handle the formal charges and upcoming hearings.
