Dorchester County residents can now register for Spring 2026 CERT training

DORCHESTER COUNTY, S.C. — Dorchester County Emergency Management is offering a free, hands-on Community Emergency Response Team (CERT) training this spring to help residents prepare for emergencies and disasters.

The comprehensive course will cover essential topics such as disaster preparedness, fire safety, medical operations, search and rescue, and team organization.

Training Dates and Location

  • Dates: April 7 – May 9, 2026
  • Location: Dorchester County Emergency Operations Center (212 Deming Way, Building 1, Summerville)
  • Final Exercise Day: May 9, 2026 (attendance is mandatory)

Who Can Participate?

The program is open to adults 18 and older, with limited spots available for ages 14–17 if they are accompanied by a parent or guardian. Participants must attend all sessions, including the final exercise day on May 9.
