A 34-year-old North Charleston, S.C., man, Albert Lathel Coaxum, faces charges of grand larceny, failure to stop for blue lights, and driving under suspension following a high-speed pursuit in a stolen vehicle.
Pursuit Details
Just before 11 a.m. Saturday, officers spotted a stolen blue Infiniti SUV with an unknown tag in the 4200 block of Rivers Avenue. When they attempted a stop, Coaxum briefly paused on Rebecca Street before fleeing—speeding over 60 mph east on Rivers Avenue, weaving lanes, turning onto McMillan Avenue toward Meeting Street, then Dorchester Road.
Chase Conclusion
He drove above limits and on the wrong side near Dorchester Road and I-26 before stopping. Officers took him into custody at gunpoint and booked him into Al Cannon Detention Center.
