Crews with Dominion Energy are working to restore power after gusty winds caused scattered outages Sunday afternoon in Charleston. Spokesperson Paul Fischer confirmed that repair teams were deployed to affected neighborhoods.

West Ashley Among Hardest Hit

As of 4:30 p.m., roughly 800 customers were without power in the West Ashley area. The outages were largely concentrated off Savannah Highway, particularly near Wappoo Road and White Oak Drive. Crews were on site assessing damage and working to restore service as quickly as possible.

Additional Outages on James Island

An additional 1,000 customers were reported without power on James Island, primarily in the Westchester area near Secessionville Road, according to Dominion’s online outage map. Restoration efforts remain ongoing as winds subside across the region.
