Power outages were recorded during windy conditions.

Power outages were reported across the Lowcountry Sunday afternoon as strong northwest winds swept through the region. A wind advisory remained in effect until 7 p.m. for Berkeley County, Charleston County, Colleton County and Dorchester County. Winds ranged from 20 to 30 mph, with higher gusts reported throughout the afternoon.

The National Weather Service recorded a peak gust of 48 mph at Charleston International Airport around 2:44 p.m., highlighting the intensity of the system.

Reported Outages and Fallen Trees

In Summerville, outages affected areas along North Main Street, the Azalea Square shopping center, and parts of Nexton Parkway. Additional outages were reported in Walterboro, the West Ashley area of Charleston, and on Johns Island.

Wind-related damage included fallen trees along Bells Highway near Walterboro and on Bohicket Road on Johns Island. Crews were working to clear debris and restore power as conditions gradually improved heading into the evening.
