Christopher Johnson, 24, from Washington state has agreed to plead guilty to second-degree murder in the 2022 killing of 36-year-old Irah Sok during a home invasion robbery.
Crime Ring Operations
Johnson led a group that targeted Asian families perceived as vulnerable, scouting homes via social media and striking between 2-5 a.m. while posing as police. They wore masks, zip-tied victims—including children—and stole valuables during burglaries, kidnappings, and robberies across Washington counties and beyond in spring/summer 2022.
Sok Home Invasion
On August 19, 2022, before 3 a.m., Johnson and two accomplices entered Sok’s Everett home, where he shot her in the head as she slept beside her husband and 7-year-old son. The husband was restrained; the pair stole luxury items worth thousands before fleeing. Sok’s husband escaped for help; she was a local maternity photographer who had recently opened her studio.
Plea and Sentencing
Johnson pleaded guilty on February 2, 2026, to federal RICO conspiracy charges covering the robbery spree, admitting the murder among other crimes. Both sides recommend 25-year concurrent sentences (federal sentencing May 6; state plea February 17 in Snohomish County), though he faces up to life. He requested Washington state prison.
