Andrew Cole Keen faces serious charges after allegedly stabbing housemates and setting fire to a Tacoma sober living home. He pleaded not guilty and remains on $1 million bail.
Attack Details
On January 20, 2026, around 4 a.m. at a registered sober facility on the 4000 block of South 34th Street, Keen—newly moved in three days prior—accused a resident of stealing his thoughts amid mental health decline from stopping medication. He stabbed three victims (neck/stomach, abdomen, and one with burns), then ignited mattresses and clothes at the base of stairs to trap upstairs residents.
Emergency Response
Keen’s father alerted police via texts predicting violence; 911 calls soon reported stabbings and fire. Flames engulfed the living room; victims fled via windows or while ablaze, with one critically injured. Surveillance captured a pursuit, and fire investigators confirmed intentional multiple starts.
Arrest and Charges
Found miles away at a 7-Eleven with blood, a hand cut, matches, lighter, and a bloody knife (not matching stabbings), Keen smiled when questioned about the blaze before invoking rights. Charged with three or four counts of second-degree attempted murder and first-degree arson; prior Virginia convictions noted. Next court date: February 18.
