Lee was driving a 2023 Nissan Rogue nearly 100 mph (98.8 mph per event data recorder) in a 25 mph residential zone, applying full throttle without braking before striking a tree. The impact created a block-long debris field, hurled the hood 115 feet into a backyard, and scattered engine parts into a home 75 feet away; the vehicle rebounded, flipped, and caught fire.
