"All the way to the bone": According to authorities, the husband rendered his wife unconscious and stabbed her 8-year-old daughter for trying to save her.

An 8-year-old girl in Dania Beach (Fort Lauderdale area), Florida, intervened to stop Daquan Delancy, 30-31, from stabbing her mother during a domestic dispute on January 14 or 15, 2026, sustaining a severe hand cut “to the bone.”

Incident Summary

The altercation began as an argument outside their home on the 4500 block of Southwest 23rd Terrace, escalating when Delancy allegedly knocked his wife (named Precious by family) unconscious and raised a knife to stab her. The girl grabbed the blade, getting slashed deeply, which halted the attack on her mother. Both victims were hospitalized—mother for injuries, daughter for her hand wound—and reported recovering well by January 16.

Charges and Arrest

Broward Sheriff’s Office arrested Delancy around 2:45 p.m. that Wednesday after a stabbing report; he was located at Memorial Regional Hospital in Hollywood. He faces no-bond charges including:

  • Attempted murder
  • Aggravated battery with a deadly weapon
  • Aggravated assault with a deadly weapon
  • Aggravated child abuse
  • Child neglect (with/without great bodily harm)

Held at Broward Main Jail; no court hearing date as of January 16, investigation ongoing with no released motive.

Family Reaction

Grandfather Tracey Linnen, out of town for his birthday, described the horror: “He was coming down with the knife and the baby grabbed it… She saved her.” He expressed regret over welcoming Delancy into the family, calling the wife “out” and fearing for her life. Neighbors and reports hailed the child as a hero.
