A fatal crash in Burke County, Georgia, claimed the life of 55-year-old Max Bowersox from Charleston County, South Carolina, on Monday morning at the intersection of Highway 23 and Ben Hatcher Road. The incident occurred around 5:20 a.m. when a westbound vehicle on Ben Hatcher Road failed to stop at a stop sign and collided with the side of a southbound tractor-trailer. Bowersox died at the scene from his injuries, and the Burke County Sheriff’s Office Traffic Division is investigating.

This marks the second fatal incident in Burke County within three days. On Friday, a woman died in a three-vehicle crash on the bypass at Liberty Street.
