NCFD is investigating a fire that involved two mobile homes off Attaway Street

North Charleston, South Carolina – A fire that destroyed two mobile homes on Saturday afternoon is being investigated to identify its cause.

Just before 12:30 p.m., firefighters arrived to an address on Attaway Street near Remount Road.

According to Deputy Chief Christan Rainey of the North Charleston Fire Department, one of the trailers displaced an adult, while the other displaced a family of four (two adults and two children).

He also stated that two cats were discovered dead during the response.

The fire is out, but Deputy Chief Rainey claimed that the cause is still being investigated, and it is unclear whether it was accidental or malicious.

According to News 2, North Charleston fire, police, and rescue departments, as well as arson investigators, were on the scene.

The American Red Cross is offering aid to the impacted families.
