Savannah, Georgia — Another cool one is forecast tonight and Sunday morning, with only a minor possibility of rain ending the weekend.
Saturday began cold, with many inland locations in the 30s and an official low of 42° at SAV. Sunny skies provided a gorgeous start to November, with highs in the upper 60s across much of the Coastal Empire and Lowcountry.
Remember that Daylight Saving Time ends at 2 a.m. on Sunday, and to put your clocks back an hour tonight.
Another cold front is predicted to arrive on Sunday morning, with most locations experiencing overnight temperatures in the 40s. Some clouds moving in late will assist keep temperatures from dropping too low. Winds will be light from the northeast to begin the day, increasing to 5 to 15 mph in the afternoon.
Clouds increase ahead of a fast-moving cold front, with largely gloomy skies forecast throughout the afternoon. Temperatures will range from the upper 60s to lower 70s. There will be a 20% chance of passing showers in the afternoon and evening, with rain expected until early Monday.
The front will not deliver much rain or cool down the area. Monday’s weather is expected to be milder, with largely cloudy sky in the morning and mostly sunny skies later. The rest of the workweek will be pretty pleasant, with mild mornings in the upper 40s and lower 50s and afternoons in the 70s with lots of sun.
Rain is out of the picture for much of the week, with the next opportunity coming as early as next weekend.
The tropics remain tranquil right now, with no tropical cyclones forecast to emerge in the next week. Long-range advice shows that development may occur in the Southwestern Caribbean Sea, however this is not formally included in any National Hurricane Center forecasts. There are currently no tropical threats to the Coastal Empire or Lowcountry.
