Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. This week, a Netherlands-based firm that specializes in modular wall production announced plans to open its first plant in the United States in South Carolina.
Maars North America will invest $3 million in Mount Pleasant to develop a fabrication plant, creating more than ten new jobs, according to officials.
“Their decision to relocate here reflects the strength of our region’s workforce, logistics network, and business climate,” Mount Pleasant Mayor Will Haynie said. “This investment reinforces our role as a hub for innovative, high-quality manufacturing, and we look forward to seeing Maars thrive and grow as part of the Mount Pleasant family.”
The facility is anticipated to open as a manufacturing plant and product showroom in the second quarter of 2026. Officials claimed the expansion will help the company fulfill rising market demand and streamline delivery.
USPS will hold hiring event in North Charleston.
“This expansion reflects our long-term commitment to supporting high-growth market segments and delivering excellence on key projects,” Vice President Ricardo Costa said. “We are bringing the same standards of manufacturing excellence, process discipline and quality that have defined Maars for over 80 years.”
Maars specializes in bespoke, pre-fabricated wall solutions for commercial environments such as workplaces, airports, hospitals, and universities, and operates in over 50 countries globally.
The Mount Pleasant factory will be located at 437 Interlock Alley. Anyone interested in applying for a position can email [email protected].
