Charleston, South Carolina – Charleston police are investigating a reported gunfire that injured a person Wednesday evening.
Officers from the Charleston Police Department responded to the vicinity of America Street near South Street around 5:15 p.m., according to department spokeswoman Sgt. Chris Stinson.
When they arrived, they found an adult with a gunshot wound. The person was transferred to a neighboring hospital with non-life threatening injuries.
An investigation is ongoing. Sgt. Stinson declined to say whether police had made any arrests or identified a suspect in connection with the incident.
