North Charleston, South Carolina. A 19-year-old was detained on Monday in connection with an incident in early October in which a minor was arrested for illegally possessing a handgun.
Kevin Lamar DeAngelo Jones is charged with selling and delivering a stolen firearm. He surrendered on October 13, according to a North Charleston Police Department news release.
The charges arise from an incident on October 3, when police seized three handguns and charged a teenager with having two weapons.
Officers were patrolling at Rivers and Cosgrove avenues shortly before 7:30 p.m. when they stopped a car for a faulty brake light, according to police. The stop happened along Dorchester Road.
Three persons were in the automobile. The driver informed officers that his license was suspended. Police reported finding a firearm inside the vehicle and then discovering a juvenile passenger carrying a duffel bag with two more handguns.
The kid was charged with two counts of unlawful possession of a firearm. He was eventually released into his mother’s custody under a custodial guarantee.
