Man charged in fatal North Charleston hit-and-run

North Charleston, South Carolina – A man has been detained and prosecuted after police claim he fled the scene of a fatal auto-pedestrian collision.

Officers from the North Charleston Police Department responded to a collision near Dorchester Road and Foxwood Drive soon after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

A male pedestrian was struck and killed at the scene.

Police claimed the suspect, 20-year-old Julio Cupil Quijivix, surrendered a few hours later.

Quijivix is charged with abandoning the scene of a death. He is being imprisoned in the Al Cannon Detention Centre.
