Charleston County, South Carolina — A 7-year-old was shot Wednesday morning at a home on Highway 78 in the Lincolnville area, according to deputies from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office.
According to the incident report, deputies arrived at the residence about 12:34 a.m. At the scene, they found a 7-year-old who was “struck” sitting on the couch, “awake and alert.”

Law officers attempted to contact residents at the property and in the surrounding area, but no results were obtained.
Deputies from the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office say the matter is still being investigated. The child’s condition was not immediately provided.
