North Charleston, South Carolina – A teenager was detained, and another suspect remains at large in connection with what North Charleston Police are calling a firearms incident.
The 16-year-old suspect, whose identity has not been revealed, faces charges of unauthorized possession of a firearm by a person under the age of 18 and resisting arrest.
Police say they were summoned to the Oldridge Road area just before 1 a.m. Sunday after receiving reports of two male suspects involved in an altercation with the victim.
The victim, 18, informed investigators that the suspects started arguing, saying that “this is [their] street,” before one of them pointed a firearm at her.
Using a description of the suspects, officers identified one and attempted to make contact.
According to authorities, the suspect fled, clutching his waistline.
That suspect was apprehended and held. Officers discovered a pistol in his belt.
The second suspect got away, and the inquiry is still underway.
