North Charleston, South Carolina – According to the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office, several detainees at the AI Cannon Detention Center felt ill on Thursday after they were discovered smoking contraband.

According to the report, when the deputies approached the jail personnel, they were shown the contraband that the convicts had been found smoking.

According to deputies, the contraband appeared to be made of toilet paper and filled with something, with the end of the tube burned and a small amount of orange powder next to it.

Jail personnel informed the deputies that they discovered the detainees vomiting inside their cells.

When the jail officials discovered the contraband, they sent the detainees to the medical office and placed them under four-hour surveillance.

Deputies say the jail staff isn’t clear where the inmates received the contraband or how it was created.

Deputies took the contraband to be destroyed.
