The Lane County Sheriff’s Office has confirmed the arrest of Jacobi Isiah Jones, a 32-year-old man from Swisshome, following an assault investigation that began in late August. The arrest comes after deputies were called to a home in the 89700 block of Indian Creek Road in Swisshome on August 30, where they interviewed an injured victim and several witnesses.
Suspect Located in Eugene After Days on the Run
In the days after the incident, authorities said Jones could not be located, and multiple attempts to find him were unsuccessful. It wasn’t until September 5 that a Lane County deputy spotted Jones’ vehicle in a parking lot on West 11th Avenue in Eugene.
Following additional investigation, deputies arrested Jones at the scene and took him to the Lane County Jail, where he was booked on charges of second-degree assault and menacing.
Victim’s Injuries Not Yet Disclosed
The sheriff’s office has not released detailed information about the severity of the victim’s injuries, but they confirmed that the case remains under active investigation.
Authorities have not said whether Jones and the victim knew each other or what may have led to the reported assault.
