SOUTH CAROLINA — A fatal crash in Newberry County on Thursday night has left one person dead, according to the South Carolina Highway Patrol.

Crash Details

The accident occurred around 10 p.m. on Macedonia Church Road, near Long Road, just outside of Prosperity. A 2005 Toyota Camry was traveling south on Macedonia Church Road when it veered off the left side of the road, crashing into a tree before hitting a power pole.

Driver Fatality

The vehicle’s driver, who was the sole occupant, tragically died at the scene of the crash. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the driver.

Investigation Underway

The South Carolina Highway Patrol is continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash. No further details have been provided at this time, but the investigation remains ongoing.
