A 40-year-old man was arrested Thursday after a traffic stop in North Charleston led to the discovery of fentanyl and marijuana, authorities say.
Details of the Traffic Stop
Officers stopped a vehicle in the parking lot of 4310 Rivers Avenue for defective brake lights. The driver appeared nervous, prompting further investigation.
Discovery of Drugs
Police developed probable cause to search the vehicle. Passenger Nicholas Vontez Myers admitted to officers that marijuana was inside a bag. Officers found eight capsules testing presumptively positive for fentanyl, approximately 250 grams of suspected marijuana, and a scale.
Charges and Booking
Myers was charged with possession with intent to distribute fentanyl and possession with intent to distribute marijuana. He was booked into the Al Cannon Detention Center.
