The coroner has identified the victim of the Monday morning North Charleston house fire

A 73-year-old woman has died following a house fire in North Charleston earlier this week.

Victim Identified

The Charleston County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Mary Howell, 73, of Charleston.

Howell was pronounced dead at the scene after firefighters responded to a home on the 1900 block of Tulip Street around 10 a.m. Monday.

Fire Under Investigation

The North Charleston Fire Department is investigating the cause of the fire.

Officials have not released additional details about what led to the incident.
